This project involved the installation of slim line double glazing to the original sash windows of a house in Hatfield Heath.  The work was carried out to 6 sash windows and a bay window including 3 sash windows.

The team also carried out a full restoration on the sash windows, including stripping all old paint from all the timber of the sash frames themselves, as well as all old paint from the window boxes and sills.  Many of the sills required new hardwood sills or repairs using spliced sections of hardwood and resin. The boxes, sills and internal architrave is then fully decorated.

To allow the slim line double glazing to fit within the frames, the team routered the sash frames within our workshop to increase the rebate size, before installing the new double glazed units with polymer putty.  The sash frames are then fully decorated before being returned to the property to be installed with draught proofing and new window furniture.

The team also carried out a restoration of the front of the property’s front door.  The large original door required fully stripping back, before repair work was carried out with resin and then draught proofing fitted to the door.
